Beat This Summer

I see him getting a few more carries, but not sure it being material enough for an impact in FF.

Teddy Bridgewater will be better than Allen, but Samuel has averaged 6.3 yards per target for his career, and it's hard to see how he tops 100 targets without a significant injury.

If I were in the market for a WR I'd much rather draft one in the third(this year at least) and pay him on his rookie contract for the next several years than take on Samuel in a contract year. The TB D looks legit all over or it may be that the Carolina Oline is really bad.

But Cam does not look good at all. D.J.

Anyone who has watched him on the field have any thoughts?

Yes, I've picked him up in all leagues.

The Panthers aren't a high volume passing team, but Samuel has started to develop a better rapport with Kyle Allen.

The Charlotte Observer's Jonathan Anderson reports Curtis Samuel "has not been impressive" during Panthers camp.

Teams called CAR in spring trying to trade for Curtis Samuel.

Needs more targets. I am starting to lose faith however he is only 24. I believe it is his foot injury not allowing him to be the explosive runner that opens up the rest of his game. The talented third-year WR got wide open for what could’ve been a 21-yard touchdown in the first half, but it wasn’t meant to be. The duo did nearly hook up for a 75-yard touchdown in the first quarter, but a slight lack of air rendered it "just" a 44-yard reception. Samuel only practiced once this week though it appears those absences were more maintenance-related than anything.

He stated Samuel's value goes up with Allen at QB. I still have no idea why they wanted Anderson so badly.

Will 2020 finally deliver the Curtis Samuel breakout season we've all been waiting for?

The distance from where it was thrown to where the receiver caught it (or would have caught it).

Upload or insert images from URL. This is only concerning since it's a new injury for him to fight through at practice throughout the week. So takes away YAC, and adds in target yardage.

Seems like something they might do. Moore would receive a slight upgrade if Samuel's unable to give it a go throughout the week. Restore formatting, × Both Danny Amendola and Golden Tate caught five passes in the matchup, which is what you have to hope for with Samuel, though it seems somewhat unlikely. Samuel will be a FLEX play for a post-bye matchup with the 49ers in Week 8. Cam is not right physically. I don't expect much because Rhule/Brady have not seemed like the best decision makers in-game so far. 11%. Restore formatting, × × Moore, Robby Anderson and Samuel, with each seeing snaps in the slot and creating separation on short and intermediate routes. Samuel rushed four times against the Bucs and logged 171 attempts in the B1G.

The entire Panthers offense largely couldn’t get anything going with the obvious exception being Christian McCaffrey.

He played college football at Ohio State. Tampa Run D is legit. So, assuming there is any traction to the rumors of the Panthers trying to move him, what spots would you see as ideal?

It makes some sense after the Panthers splurged on Robby Anderson in free agency and already have D.J. Coach Ron Rivera said Samuel hurt his shoulder when he laid out trying to make a catch against the Niners Sunday. Panthers QB Teddy Bridgewater said the team is trying to get the ball into Curtis Samuel's hands more often. The touchdown was just his third of 2019, though two of those have come in the past three games.

The Packers are on tap for Week 10.

He had 2 games with 4 rushing attempts last season. If the new coaching staff wasn't interested in keeping him around AND Samuel was willing to sign a reasonable extension in reaction to getting pushed down the depth chart I could see making a deal for him but it wouldn't be for a 3rd rounder. He fits the mold of what we’re looking for in this type of offense, a guy that you can utilize all around the field and get the ball in the hands and good things happen.

On the other hand he'll only turn 24 before the season begins and he has been trending up in overall production.

Still, Davis' opportunity is through the roof, as he ranks behind only Alvin Kamara and Ezekiel Elliott in average opportunity this season.

Samuel was Kyle Allen's most-targeted receiver. Davis should be able to get enough done on the ground, to go along with his work in the receiving game, to be viewed as a safe low-end RB1. Not sure that helps you but I'm trying to give some perspective that unless you have to I would not roll him out there.

CMC had no room to run and Cam was pressured on just about every drop back.

Any chance Carolina makes a switch in a few weeks if Cam continues to miss the broad side of a barn?

OC Joe Brady has talked of the need to get Samuel more touches. With D.J. We’re getting the ball in space and I’m excited for him to take the next leap.” Samuel received nine carries (and 11 catches) once Scott Turner took over play-calling duties for his father, Norv Turner, during Carolina’s last four games and it sounds as if Brady has a similar outlook for the fourth-year wideout this upcoming season. Carolina has utilized Samuel on third down and short this season, but he's fourth on the team in receiving through Week 5. Expert Recommendation Updated: Sep 25th, 2020 . Samuel did finish as 2019's No.

Samuel is excellent after the catch, and could be used in a high% RAC role.

Moore's (concussion) absence into fruitful production.

Powered by Invision Community. Samuel should not be considered a FLEX option against the Bucs in Week 2. What the hell would samuel even be worth?

Low scoring football game IMO. Samuel wasn't even able to leverage D.J. I've seen a lot of Panthers games, this is among the worst I've seen in terms of Cam and the play-calling too.

supposed to be bad weather in this game, not sure I'd roll with any WRs from either side. It's been a season of some good but mostly bad, although that's not completely his fault.

He does the odd jobs," Rhule said. Curtis Samuel caught 4-of-8 targets for 35 yards and one touchdown in the Panthers' Week 10 loss to the Packers. If you have an account, sign in now to post with your account. Game of Thrones Dynasty League, 2020-10-11.

The playcalling can improve.

× Moore, but there's nothing at all wrong with carrying Samuel as part of the wideout trio, especially when the options behind him are Seth Roberts, Pharoh Cooper, Keith Kirkwood, and a couple others. It's high praise for a player who has 34 touches on the season.

Moore, and Anderson and tight end Ian Thomas won't leave much left over.

Correct.

{{ player.position + ' - ' + player.team }}. Fair enough....I’m not sure who is X, Y,  and Z, etc......I guess in my mind whoever mans the slot with Teddy will be ok....and I’m thinking that may be Samuel...?

Footballguys.Com Curtis Samuel caught 4-of-11 targets for 46 yards in the Panthers' Week 8 loss to the 49ers.   You cannot paste images directly. While the Bears are a stout defense, their run defense isn't the same without Eddie Goldman up the middle.

If Week 1 is any indication, the Panthers' passing game under Joe Brady is going to spread targets fairly evenly between D.J. I think the franchise is really going to focus on Moore and Samuel as their future in the pass game. Samuel is a borderline flex in 14-team leagues this week. Bottom line is Samuel should not be a drop. If you have an account, sign in now to post with your account. Samuel added another five yards on one carry.   You cannot paste images directly.

Curtis Samuel still expects the "bulk" of his Week 3 snaps to come at wide receiver. Since Allen has come in, Moore has been an afterthought, with 7 targets in 2 games, compared to 7 per week for Samuel.

Samuel's recently dealt with a significant shoulder injury but has yet to miss a game. Free agency approaching. He's gotta produce more on his targets or he will ultimately see less of them or he simply will be an under performer, either way those are not good long term. With this being Samuels last year under contract I think he is a good hold in dynasty, but can’t imagine him being able to really breakout with so many surrounding options. Air yards, boosted. He could be their 5th best pass catcher.

Samuel's matchup couldn't have been better.

× This season he has secured along with McCaffery the largest target share on the team at 23.3%.

If we only got a 5th for Dunbar, I'd say a 5th Plus we gave them a 5th for Kyle Allen. And I think he was right. He might have spiked weeks in his future, but at the present Samuel is not fantasy viable.
